| Over the last many years, we have seen a huge increase in the number of ways in which data is created, transmitted, stored. This is true in all spheres, including in the industrial equipment sector. Sensors and control systems capture and process machine data on dozens of parameters. Collation of these data takes place in machine memories or local devices. Transmission of these data, either through wires or wirelessly, is sometimes the next step. Data thus transmitted can be displayed, as well as stored in databases. This flow of data, proceeding from one machine to another, is referred to as machine to machine communication, or M2M communication.
A large part of the world's resources are consumed by industrial equipment. However, while such equipment is often tested in controlled conditions, there is normally a lack of data on its operation in the field on an ongoing basis. Equipment therefore often runs unoptimised and unmonitored in the field, which can lead to increased energy consumption, more wear and tear, lower efficiency, and breakdowns. Therefore there is a huge potential to save resources through continuously measuring and analysing equipment data. Savings in carbon dioxide emissions can further be monetised under the CDM. EcoAxis offers a simple to use, affordable and integrated package for accomplishing collection and analysis of M2M data. The SUPERaxisTM platform of hardware and software enables remote monitoring and control of equipments with ease. For the print industry, in addition to the remote monitoring solution, EcoAxis also offers a register control system, named Alygn, for gravure and offset printing. Further, EcoAxis is the master distributor of Walchem's (an Iwaki America Incorporated Company) entire range of remote monitoring solutions for the water industry. |
